Design Team Wednesday with Katie!

Let's Get Creative with Color!

Adding color to ribbon and embellishments can be done with just about any medium. I used Copic's and distress stain. You could use spray ink/wash, watercolors even food dye! Just keep in mind things like water may affect your outcome so don't take your card out into the rain. :D

Customize your ribbon and twine for your project using Copics, Spectrum Noir or other alcohol markers. The Tim Holtz Distress Stains are also perfect for adding color to ribbon or other textile embellishments.

A beautiful stained look can be achieved with a brown Copic marker on wood embellishments.

I made a quick card using the dyed ribbon and embellishments along with paper from Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook collection 6x6 paper pad. The butterflies are from Studio Calico. The label edges were inked with the latest Distress Ink  from the Summer Limited Edition set- Salty Ocean.

Don't be afraid to dive in and get your hands dirty! Have Fun!

The solid distressed butterflies really popped against the pretty bg pp.
