Introduction to Bullet Journaling
With Dawn
January 30, 2020
12:00 to 2:00 pm
$20

Do you ever write a name or phone number on a sticky note and then the next time you see the note, you have no clue who the person is or why you wrote down a phone number? I am a recovering sticky note addict that has finally found an organizational tool that works, replaces notes and stickies, and it worth the time to set it up each month. Everything in my life that I need to organize is in this little book and it has been a life changer. Lists, dates, goals, meeting notes, grocery lists, birthdays, exercise log, creative prompts, work hours, and anything else that I need to organize goes into this little book. It is customized for the things that I need to keep track of or remember. I carry it everywhere and although I still use my calendar on my phone, having everything written in this book helps me be organized and productive. It feels great!

Simply stated, Bullet Journaling is an organizational system, based on your individual needs. In this Introduction class, I will help you set up a yearly spread, a monthly list and a daily task area. Your book will also have a dynamic Table of Contents so that everything is easy to locate. I’ll share some basic processes and systems that will apply to everything you do in your book. Once we have the basics, we will look at fun ways of tracking other things. How about your list of ink pads or watercolor markers so that adding to the collection is an easy reference at the store? Do you have a list of books that you want to read or movies that you want to watch? We can create a fun way to keep those close at hand for your next library visit. Do you need a system for what cards you sent to which friends and relatives? There is a system for everything.

What do you need? A small notebook, a pen, a ruler or piece of card stock for drawing lines. My favorite notebook is a Moleskin Cahiers 7.5 x 9.75 with grid paper. These usually come in packages of three, so find a friend and share, or let me know ASAP that you want one and I will have them available for purchase the day of the class. My preference for a pen is either Stabilo fine tip, a Sharpie extra fine or a Micron fine point. There are a few pens for sale at Stamp Fever.

WARNING: If you go research BUJOs on the internet, don’t be put off by the beautiful creative journals that you see. These have become a creative outlet for many, and you may want to take your journal in that direction, BUT it is not necessary. My journal shown above is practical and functional tool, not my art journal. Learn the system first and then embellish if you wish.
