CHRISTMAS GLITTER CLASS
with SHIRLEY

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28th             6:30 P.M.                  $20.00

We will be using Heat embossing and Stampendous Nativity Christmas stamp set for one card.  The other two cards will use, Penny Black word dies, Lexington Ornament, Costello Ornament background, Lavina Snowflake dies from Poppy, Celestial Snowflake from Memory Box and Stitched Snowflakes from Lawn Fawn  We will use Elizabeth Craft Designs double sided adhesive and "Sky" Silk Micro-fine glitter.

No embossing experience required for this class.

Supplies for this class:

Basic Stamp Kit
Foam tape
Clear drying glue such as Art Glitter
Tweezers

"OH DEER" CLASS
with Sheila

Saturday, October 29th          10:30 a.m.          $20.00

In this class you will make three different deer themed cards, using stamps and dies from Avery Elle and Taylored Expressions.

Please bring your basic tool kit which should include, detail scissors, fine line glue and tape runner adhesive.  You will also need to bring your favorite coloring medium, such as, Copic markers, colored pencils or markers in various shades of browns, flesh tones, reds and pinks. 

I will provide Distress inks for stamping, but feel free to bring your own if you's like in shades of greens, blues, and browns.

Two New Classes

Two New Classes are coming with our newest Design Team members - First one is with Shirley the   Blooming Flowers Card Class Saturday, May 17  -  1PM New Design Team member, Shirley, has created a fun class for you! Using bright colored card stock along with cute stamps you will be coloring using your favorite coloring medium, colored pencils or markers (Copic or Spectrum). To achieve the colors used on the cards, please bring an assortment of markers or pencils that would include: Light yellow, medium yellow  Medium green, green, medium brown, pink, magenta, medium red, red lavender, violet, and purple. Just a reminder of our Class Policy Please Read Our teachers work very hard to put together interesting classes for our customers. It takes time to prepare the kits and combine techniques and/or products. They have families, jobs and busy lives just like you. Lately, we have been experiencing an increased number of last minute class cancellations that directly impact our teachers. In light of this, we thought it may be time to remind you what our class policys are. - To reserve your spot in class we require payment in full 2 days BEFORE the class. Please pay by cash or a check made out directly to the teacher. - If you sign up over the phone, your credit card will hold your spot in the class and will only be charged if you do not cancel 48 hours prior to class.  - Please give 48 hours notice if you must cancel.   - No children under the age of 10 (unless approved by instructor). Children must be supervised by parent at all times. Class fees will be paid for all children in attendance at classes. - Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before class time. If you are running late, a courtesy call is appreciated. - Classes are $18.00 unless otherwise specified in our Newsletter or Upcoming Classes & Events page. All class attendees receive a 15% discount on their purchases the day of the class. - Every effort is made to use the same papers and embellishments in class that are used on the sample. However, we cannot control the availability of paper and embellishments at the time of class. A reasonable substitute may be used.     We appreciate your understanding. Thank you.

Snowy Christmas Card

Today we have DT Member Katie's last CAS-ual Fridays card using the Naughty or Nice stamp set. Using the same sentiment as the card from Tuesday, she created a different card with a different look and feel. Keep reading to see how she put this card together.

Of course she used CAS-ual Fridays stamp set Naughty or Nice. She also used Penny Black's snow dust stamp. The star gems are from Hero Arts. Santa Claus is Coming to Town

We're back today with another card from DT Member Katie using CAS-ual Fridays stamp set Naughty or Nice. Today's card is using the stamp set for Christmas! It's not too early to show off some Christmas cards, right? After all, it's only 2 months away and we've got to get started on our Christmas cards!

This cute Santa Claus card features the stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Naughty or Nice, of course. The background stamp is from Penny Black and stamped with Hero Arts ink in silver. Katie used a pice of vellum on top to create a frame around the feature of the card. The gifts are cut out from Lawn Fawn's Fa-La-La Christmas paper. Katie also used a die for the snowflake; too cute right?

Design Team Wednesday

Kathy's here with a quick but highly effective stamping tip.

"Ever have a day when you just couldn't get a full coverage on your silhouette stamps?  Here is what I do when that happens. See the close ups?....don't like that "pitted" look?  Grab your Fantastix coloring tool by Tsukineko and dab it in the ink.  I have one designated just for black ink.  Then carefully color over the area that needs more ink.  I have fixed many an image this way.  I've tried other coloring pens, but love this look the best."

Here's the problem- splotchy black color on your silhouette stamping.

Correct the problem with a Fantastix Ink Applicator Coloring Tool

Just dip the tip in the ink pad to pick up the ink 

and color over the uneven ink on your stamped image.

This technique will work great on large solid stamp images and more intricate designs.

Here's the wonderful result......

And here is this pretty silhouette image used on one of Kathy's signature vintage style cards.

The Tsukineko Fantastix Coloring tools come in sets of 6, each with a cap so you can reuse them.  They come in Brush Point, Bullet Point and a Combo Set. They retail for $5.00 per set.
